Projects

To give you a better impression of our activities - please find below some of
our projects as done in the last few years:


Projects :

LKL has recently arranged for shipment of 8 petrol vessels from Cherbourg to Abu Dhabi.
3 vessels were loaded on board of mv MARIA whilst another 5 were loaded on board of mv WILMA.
All vessels were loaded under deck upon request of shippers.



We Recently arranged for transport of Multicat ''Coastal Assistant'', owned by Acta Marine, for transport from Kakinada (India) to Mediterrean Sea. The multicat was loaded on board mv ''Wiebke''.



In Spain the Boa Viking barge 6 involved in a number of container crane transports.
The following ports of loading and discharging were visted in direct continuation;
Barcelona / Valencia / Tenerifa / Las Palmas / Arrecife..After the variuos transports
barge was towed back to Gibraltar
For towing the barges to the various destinations we contracted tug Jantar.

The barge Coastal Carrier I and Ems Ponton III have been redelivered after a period
of more than 2.5 years of continuos work in the Caspian Sea.
Both barges were towed back from the Caspian Sea by Tug Dutch Partner and safely redelivered at Rotterdam.


For Rederij Waterweg we arranged transport of the workboats Saramaatje Elf and Saramaatje XII (both in excess of 300 ts) their newblt multicats CS Carmen and Marina (each approx 100ts) on board "CEC Caledonia".All vessels were loaded in Antwerp and after two weeks transit to the Sea of Azov discharged on the roads of Taganrog.From the anchorage the vessels will be towed further to their final destination in the Caspian Sea for a long term contract.

On behalf of the French navy we performed a few towage contracts with tug Boxer.
At first, the naybarge Dino was towed from Brest to St Nazaire and in direct continuation
a newbuilt hull (half vessel) was towed from St Nazaire to Brest.
On the picture you can see two additional floating volumes on each side of the bow
in order to create extra b uoyancy.

In Cherbourg a submarine section (dimensions 5.9 x 5.8 x 6.2 mtrs - weight 31ts ) was
loaded for destination Cartagena (Spain) - transport was performed by vessel CEC Century.

As from May 2005 we have arranged two shipments of concrete mats from Peterhead
(Scotland) to Onne (Nigeria). These concrete mats are used to cover and protect subsea
pipelines offshore Nigeria.. The vessels BP Trader and Feedstar were contracted with
Vertom in Rotterdam to perform these transports..
In August a third and final shipment will be done by a similar type of coaster.

In Dubai we loaded the workboat "Marineco India" for destination Rotterdam - transport
was performed by mv "Annegret". After Marineco India was safely afloat at Rotterdam
she sailed for her final destination Scotland.

In May the final voyage for the "Snohvit-project" was performed. In total 7 voyages
were executed with several pontoons from Ugland and the tugs RT Magic, RT Spirit,
Varius and Alfons Letzer were all contracted in close co-operation with Kotug..
The last voyage from Heerema Zwijndrecht to Hammerfest was done with tug Alfons Letzer
and the largest Ugland pontoon UR 161 (dimensions 100 x 37 x 7 mtrs).
On board were 4 modules of which the largest piece weighing 1623 tons had a tota
  height of more than 27 mtrs .

For Boa Offshore A/S we arranged for towage of the newbuilthull for Boa Deep CII.
The hull and helideck were fabricated in Shanghai and the outfitting will be done
in Vigo. The hull was towed by ITC tug Sandy Cape via the Cape of Good Hope with
an average towing speed of 8 knots

Over the last 12 months we have arranged for several tugs, barges for the "Kizomba B Tieback project" offshore Angola. This project is concerning transportation of subsea structures from USA, Europe and Angola to the Kizomba B offshore field.
The barges Boa Viking 2, 3, 5, 6, Boabarge 22, Ems Pontoon 7 and towing tugs Boa Master, Jantar, Koral, Letojanni and Augustea Quattro have been all working several months on site offshore Angola and were operating mainly out of ports of Soyo and Lobito.

From the ports of Dunkirk, Le Trait, Bayonne and Bilbao we arranged for transport of mainly pipes and smaller offshore structures to the installation vessel FDS working offshore Angola.
We contracted the coasters Memel, Feedstar and BP Trader to perform these voyages.

For the Greek Navy we arranged for the transport of a newbuilt ACL (Air Cushion Landing craft) from Shipyard St Petersburg to Piraeus. The ACL was loaded on board the submersible Boabarge 19 (136 x 36 x 9 mtrs) and the tug Varius performed the  towage of the barge and left St Petersburg the 25th of November. Enroute to Pireaus the convoy had to seek shelter for approx. 2 day near Cape St Vincente (Portugal), but the cargo ACL was safely delivered at Piraeus just before Christmas.

When AHT Boa Queen was sailing back after temination  of her timecharter at West Africa we managed to fix her for towage of the "Gazprom 1". This former drilling vessel was laid up at La Valetta was towed to Tampico where the ship will be converted into a crane vessel.

For one our regular clients we arranged for transport of two harbour cranes from Dunkirk to Port La Nouvelle.
For this project we contracted tug Waterman and pontoon E 3004. Athough convoy had to shelter for a number of days at Cherbourg and La Corunna due to severe weatherconditions the cranes were safely delivered at Port La Nouvelle.

Through various parties involved we contracted tug Varius and Boabarge 20 for transport of a newbuilt air cushion boat (acb) for the Greek navy. The ACB was built at St Petersburg and had to be delivered at Pireaus. Although the weather restrictions during transport were quite limited the convoy had  to shelter for 2 days only at the south coast of portugal and the ACB was safely discharged on Christmas day after a 30 days journey.

from Shanghai to Rotterdam. For towage of this barge we contracted tug De Hong.

Transport of newbuilding hulls and pontoons on board "UR 93" and "UR 94"
from Shanghai to Rotterdam. For this tandem towage we contracted tug De Jin.

For the above mentioned projects we were also involved in discharging operations of this floating equipment and further onward transportation, storage, clearance, etc.

For Western Geco we arranged transport of "Coastal Liner" from Sea of Azov back to Rotterdam on board coaster "Quo Vadis".

The last few years we have been active for varous shipbuilders in West France for transports of shipsections by means of variuos flattop pontoons and tugs such as "Coastal carrier I" and "Coastal Force" (see below picture).

For several dredging companied we arrranged for transport of dredging materials:

from Zeebrugge to Ireland and back to Zeebrugge
from Huelva + Valencia to Ashdod, Israel
from Flushing to Zeebrugge

On behalf of Three Quays Marine Service we provided all logistics and seafastening of
one unfinished newbuilding yacht which was loaded into the famous Dok V of Verolme which was transported as one complete package on board Blue Marlin from Rotterdam to Dubai.

 

For a Spanish Forwarding Company  we transported brand new columms for the Lyondell factory at Rotterdam. Columms were transported on board boa barge 17. We also contracted tug Barracuda for towage of this barge (see picture).

 

For the Owners of the floating crane "Donna Felicia" we arranged a dry tansport from Constantza to St Martha, Columbia.
After discharging at ST Maria, Boabarge 7 and tug Boa Prince sailed onwards to Buenos Aires to load Jackup barge "JUP 111" for Stolt Offshore and transported this one safely to Douala in Cameroon.
On the ballast trip back to Stavanger we also arranged for a crane move of two container
cranes at Las Palmas.

We contracted AHT Kigoria for towage of LB 4000 from Gdansk to Setubal (via Bergen).
About 6 months later when LB 4000 was completely refurbished at the yard in Setubal
we contracted tug Suhaili for onward towage to Angola.

For one of our Mexican clients we contracted the tug Smitwijs Singapore for towage of Accomodation rig Borgholm Dolphin from Haugesund to the Bay of Campeche.
After a succesful charter of almost 2 years; we again contracted SW Singapore to tow
back "The Dolphin" to Belfast.

We arranged for a transport of some splitbarges and a crane vessel owned bij Beheermij.
BV van Dijke from Rotterdam to Takoradi in Ghana.

At the North Sea we have also been active in variuos transports of cranes.
We shipped a Gottwald crane from Rotterdam to Hamburg for HAPO barges and for SNCM-LMI we arranged for a transport of two cranes from Dunkirk to Cherbourg (see pictures)



For the well known America's Cup Winning Team Allinghi we did various transports of their two identical racing yachts, following boats and loose equipment.
We did the pre-haulage from Cherbourg to Antwerp on board coaster Lis Weber whereafter
we arranged for onward shipment to Los Angeles.

For Account Saipem Sa we contracted various tugs and barges to transport the Jackets for
the Yoho project at Nigeria. Tugs Salvage Champion, Augustea Quattro, Simoon and Suhail
were contracted to tow the loaded barges Boa 28, Boa 7 and 9 and Boa 21 from US Gulf
and Malaysia to the Yoho offshore field at Nigeria.

On behalf of Grand Circle Cruise Line the semi submersible vessel "Eide Transporter" was
fixed to safely transport the inland cruise vessel "Debussy" from Fos sur Mer to Rotterdam.

For "The World" project in Dubai we arranged transport of tug Coastal Force and Multicat "Coastal Defender" on board Jumbo vessel "Fairload" from Rotterdam to Dubai.

For Boa Offshore A/S we arranged for towage of Verolme Dok loaded on Boabarge 19 from Rotterdam to Desan yard in Tuzla. View the dimension of the dock; the dock was cut in various pieces in order to load and transport it safely on the barge. The Tug Englishman was contracted for towage of the barge to Tuzla and empty back to Stavanger.

At request of Ugland we arranged for towages of their laden barges from Antwerp and Rotterdam to the Melkoya LNG plant in Hammerfest.
In close cooperation with Kotug of Rotterdam the tugs RT Magic, Alphonse Letzer and Varius performed in total 7 towages to Norway.

In close co-operation with Ton Kooren Int. Marine Services BV we arranged for all port clearance and towage of Damen 'Dok I" to Schelde yard in Flushing.
The floating dock had to be repaired at Flushing and towage from Schiedam to Schelde yard was performed by Italian tug Marzamemi (102 ts bp)..
A few weeks later, after completion of repairs at Flushing, tug Hellas (70 tsbp) arranged for towage back to Damen yard at Schiedam.
All local tug assistance in Rotterdam was performed by Kotug.

Dalia Project.

From various European ports to Offshore Angola.

For Dredging International we arranged for transport of dredging equipment from Ghent to Sagunto. Equipment included Cutter scution dredger 'Rubens" with a draft of 3.5 mtrs and weight above 3000 tons. Boabarge 22 and tug Jantar were used as transporting vessels and the pictures are showing the loading operation at Ghent.

Attached a picture of barge E3501 laden with new pipe carrying lift which was built for installatian vessel Polaris .. We fixed tug Fighter for towage of laden barge frm Newcastle to Schiedam. Also we arranged fro the port clearance in Schiedam.

On behalf of Harms Bergung we arranged for towage of 4 newblt hulls from Mangalia to Hamburg. Tug Hellas will perform all 4 towages and attached you see a picture of first voyage where tug and hull are passing Dardanelles Staits.

For Mammoet van Oord BV we arranged total 8 transports each with 3 piles of approx 37 mtrs length 220 mts and 3 transitions pieces of 25 mtrs length 240 mts,from Hoboken, Belgium to the Burbo offshore Irish Sea.
Shipments were performed by the vessels mv Hagen and mv Helsinki.
The engineering for transportation was done by LKL in house.
